The Undertaker returned to the ring at tonight's WWE live event in Waco, Texas. The following photos come from #WWEWaco on Twitter.
It looks like Taker teamed with Sheamus to defeat Damien Sandow and Wade Barrett. Stay tuned later for more details.
The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar is already being heavily discussed for either this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view or WrestleMania 30 in 2014. The main reason it didn't happen this year is because officials wanted The Rock in a WWE Title storyline. With Lesnar's schedule and everything else, WWE felt it would not have made much sense. As intriguing as having The Rock and Lesnar square off in Los Angeles in front of the Hollywood crowd at SummerSlam is, this would be one of the biggest rematches in WWE history and shouldn’t be done anywhere besides the WrestleMania stage.

It's said that Taker does not want to come back and have to fake his way through a mediocre match, which is why his status is up in the air. He had major shoulder and hip surgery over the past year which made it impossible for him to do any serious training for a long time. Taker couldn't lift upper body because of shoulder rehab and couldn't do lower body because of the hip rehab.
As great as The Undertaker is, and as much as the aura he carries has become synonymous with the WWE, the time is running out on his career. The WWE Universe wants to see the Deadman on the road to WrestleMania in 2013, but they wouldn’t be advocating for his return if it would be lackluster. As of a few days ago, the internal word was that Taker is still "planned" to face CM Punk this year. People close to Taker believe that if he doesn't do WrestleMania 29, then his career is not over and it would simply mean he didn't have enough time to fully recover from everything. The expectation is that he would like to do WrestleMania 30 in 2014 and that the show could be built around his farewell since he will be 49 years old at that point.
