Viewers of WWE Raw last night were left in a state of shock after color commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler collapsed at ringside during the broadcast.
WWE’s Superstars and staff pushed onward, embodying that “the show must go on,” but the concern of fans and superstars alike couldn’t be hidden.
Throughout the remainder of the show, Michael Cole continued to provide updates on Lawler’s condition, which were also echoed across social media.
Raw’s broadcast ended with the news that Lawler’s condition had stabilized, but we were left without an official statement from WWE.
Courtesy of the WWE.com website, we now have an official statement from the company confirming that the scare was indeed a heart attack:
Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during last night’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal.  We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family.
The precise cause of the heart attack remains unknown at this stage; however, Lawler’s close friend Jim Ross suggested the following via Twitter:
It's possible via my own experiences Jerry Lawler may have had blocked arteries associated w/ his heart. That matter can be addressed. TBD
It goes without saying that the thoughts of wrestling fans everywhere go out to the Hall of Famer and his family.
Stay tuned  we continue to have updates on the condition of "The King."
