This time, though, the WWE Championship will be on the line. As impressive as The Rock successfully defending his title was for his momentum against CM Punk at the 2013 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view Sunday, the victory celebration will be short lived.
The Rock must now go on to defend the championship against Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29 at MetLife Stadium.
Both Cena and The Rock are looking to walk away victorious at WrestleMania, and the long history between these two men is setting the stage for this battle to be the biggest main event in wrestling history.
John Cena vs. The Rock: Part Deux.

Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.
When: Sunday, April 7 at 7 p.m. ET
Watch: Pay-per-view (local cable providers)
Live Stream: WWE.com has PPV for $44.99

What A Win Would Mean For John Cena
Since losing to The Rock at WrestleMania 28, Cena hasn't performed up to his own high standards. His tough stretch includes cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase and losing and failing to beat Punk for the title on several other occasions as well.
Cena has still been on Raw almost every episode and has worked short programs with fresher faces like Dolph Ziggler and The Shield, but he is the top star in the company. It’s time for Cena to get back to his winning ways.
It’s been too long since we’ve since Cena with the WWE Championship.
Not only would a Cena win be the rejuvenation of his character needs, it would be the escape plan WWE and The Rock were looking for the whole time. It was great having The Rock back, but if anyone had to send the movie star packing, who better than the real face of the company?

What A Win Would Mean For The Rock
Now that The Rock has one title defense under his belt, the thought that he could retain the title against Cena at WrestleMania is intriguing.
As seen by last year’s Extreme Rules PPV—the first show after WrestleMania—WWE is still trying to make the event something special. If The Rock is a surprise to be with the company through the May PPV, there is a chance he could retain at against Cena.
The Rock beating Cena would be an absolute shocker, but it could be the kind of swerve that the WWE Universe loves and supports 100 percent.
The champion could always drop the title to Cena at Extreme Rules, and the hype from The Rock’s stunning win would put the buy rates for the next PPV through the roof.

Prediction: John Cena Wins the WWE Championship
There will be a strong contingent of fans that absolutely hates the decision to put the strap on Cena, but allowing the current face of the company (Cena) to go over the former face of the company (The Rock) for the championship is as close to an actual passing of the torch as anyone could imagine.
WWE is giving the fans this match again because this will make the most money, and Cena winning is also what’s best for the company. WWE is a business first and foremost, and it must do what’s best for the investors and the future.
Cena will be the superstar that remains on every episode of Raw when The Rock returns to Hollywood, so the rub of beating a bona fide legend for the WWE title at WrestleMania will reassert the fact that Cena is the unquestioned No. 1 star.
Beating The Rock in the biggest rematch in WWE history will be the brightest moment in Cena’s storied career.
