WWE News: CM Punk in Altercation with Fan at Conclusion of Raw

Monday Night Raw ended with something in the background being more interesting than what was happening in the ring.
Following the final segment of the night, which saw CM Punk and Mr. Vince McMahon have an all-out brawl, we saw the WWE Champion retreat into the stands.
John Cena and Ryback came out to defend the CEO of WWE against the best in the world, and they sent Punk running.
While Punk was in the stands and McMahon was speaking to him on the mic, you could see Punk get into a physical altercation in the crowd, but you could have missed it just by blinking.
All we saw was the camera cutting to a far shot of Punk in the background right as he turned and hit a fan twice in the face.
What prompted this is not clear, but it looked as if fans were hanging all over the champion following the retreat into the crowd.
As soon as it was clear a fight was going to break out, the camera cut away to a shot of McMahon, who barely broke character before continuing with his promo.
When we were given another shot of Punk, he was clutching his WWE title, while the fan he hit could be seen a couple feet behind him talking to security.
More details are sure to come out about this in the coming days, but it is certainly a shocking way for the show to end.
There are a lot of questions right now.
Was CM Punk provoked, and if so, what happened that we did not get to see?
If you or a friend have a DVR with the show on it, you should go back and watch the closing few minutes of the show and see the insanity unfolds.
An educated guess would be that Punk was somehow provoked, but we will have to see if an official statement is made by anyone in the coming hours and days.
Did you see the altercation?
What do you think happened?
