WWE WresleMania 29 Tickets Generate over $10 Million on First Weekend of Sale
WWE WRESTLEMANIA 29 |
The 29th edition of the popular pro wrestling pay-per-view—often called the "Super Bowl" of pro wrestling—will be held next year at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7.
With an official capacity of 82,566 people, MetLife Stadium will host one of the biggest WWE events of all time.
Although this will be the first WrestleMania to be held at MetLife Stadium, it will actually be the fifth WrestleMania to be held in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area (WrestleManias I, IV, V, X, XX were all held in venues around this area).
First-week sales of the event reportedly brought in a total of over $10 million for the largest wrestling promotion on Earth (via WrestleInc).
With movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson already committed to being part of next year's monumental event, there is no doubt that the 50,000 who have already purchased their tickets will be in for a great time.
When asked about the event during a February 16, 2012 conference in which the location of WrestleMania XXIX was first announced, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said:
"I will come to WrestleMania XXIX, and I will electrify MetLife Stadium like never before."
