The last thing the WWE can afford is to have a repeat main event at WrestleMania 29, so it's imperative that the company find a way to make a triple-threat match for the WWE title at the biggest pay-per-view event of the year.
The Rock and CM Punk will meet once again for the WWE title at Elimination Chamber after The People's Champ edged out Punk at last month's Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Rock's win left many fans angry because when combined with John Cena's victory in the 30-man Royal Rumble, it looked as though the WWE was set on having Rock and Cena meet once again in the main event at WrestleMania.
Aside from it being a nauseating repeat match from last year, the WWE billed the first Rock-Cena showdown as a "Once in a Lifetime" match, so clearly a second one-on-one would take a lot of the luster out of that infamous title.
Things can certainly change after the Elimination Chamber event, however. Punk could realistically beat The Brahma Bull to retain the belt he once held for an historic amount of time, but even that result wouldn't exactly suffice.
Granted, a Punk-Cena main event at WrestleMania could be a great match, but we've seen those two square off more than enough times to make it a special occurrence.

As is the case with the Rock-Cena showdown, this particular match would be predictable and unexciting to the many fans that have seen Punk and Cena fight each other before.
So, the only option the WWE has left in its current situation would be to make a Punk-Cena-Rock triple-threat match for the WWE title as the main event at WrestleMania. As it stands now, it's a little difficult to figure how they would make it work, but doing so would create quite the buzz since this matchup has never happened before.

One of the stipulations in the Rock-Punk match leaves for an opening to make this happen.
The deck is stacked against The Rock in this match. If he is either counted out or disqualified, Rock will lose his title regardless. Of course, he can also be beaten in the normal ways, but this means he can lose the title in an illegitimate way.
Maybe Punk scores a victory thanks to a Rock DQ or count out.
That could lead The Rock to talking trash about how Punk didn't earn the title, but rather regained it cheaply. This scenario certainly isn't a stretch after Punk himself has been playing the same game since he lost the title last month.

Which WrestleMania main event would you like to see?

After fan pressure and countless verbally abusive confrontations with The Rock, Punk would be forced to prove he deserves his belt by beating The Rock one more time, thus putting The People's Champ in the main event.
Or, perhaps it is Punk who is disqualified in this match, which would give The Rock back his belt once again. In that instance, Punk can continue to harp on the fact that he has never really lost his belt and that could force The Rock to request Punk get into the main event at WrestleMania so he can beat him "fair and square."
There are other scenarios that could happen that nobody sees just yet, but however the WWE can make this happen, they must. If not, fans will be greatly disappointed in the company and that will setup a boring main event at WrestleMania, no matter how you slice it.
