The Rock...teaming up with WWE Studios
Over at his official Twitter account, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that he will be teaming up with WWE Studios for the first time to make The Fall Guy.
Earlier today, the star wrote:The Hollywood Reporter revealed last week that Johnson was in talks for the lead role in the film, which is the movie reboot of the popular '80s action show of the same name. Per this report, filmmaker McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) will be directing the piece.
WWE Studios will be collaborating with production company Hyde Park Entertainment to fund the movie.
The Fall Guy, which ran on ABC from 1981 to 1986, revolved around a Hollywood stunt man, played by Lee Majors, who made money on the side as a bounty hunter. The show itself was pretty entertaining, in a cheesy, '80s type of way. Johnson will be taking on Majors' role for the film.
His films may not win any Oscars or garner great critical acclaim, but people are still lining up in droves to see them.
Any movie Johnson stars in is bound to do well.
As a plus, he will likely be making appearances on WWE television in 2014 or 2015 to plug the movie whenever the film comes out—it seems obvious.
